LED (light emitting diode) technology is a revolution within the lighting industry.

Completely different to standard light bulbs. Simple, small and strong. Designed for versatility.

The most energy-efficient bulbs use 90% less energy than traditional incandescent due to their very low voltage requirements.

Asides from the significant reduction in energy use, LED lighting has a number of other advantages:

Ultra-long lasting – depending on type and use, bulbs can last up to 25-30 years. This results in considerable savings (and less inconvenience) by not having to repeatedly replace bulbs.

LEDs give out their light almost instantly when you flick the switch, so you don’t have to put up with dim light while they get going. LEDs are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. They work in low temperatures and do not generate heat and are toxin free.

LED lights are dimmable and therefore are suited to two further energy saving products – Movement Sensors and Daylight Sensors to give even more savings.

Movement Sensors – In areas used heavily at certain times but less so at others, for example day and night use, lights can be dimmed by up to 90% (80% in stairwells) during periods of infrequent use but movement sensors will pick up if the area is being used and switch the lights to full brightness for a pre-determined period then, once there is no more movement, they reduce down again to the lower power. This can give huge savings.

Daylight Sensors – In locations with large areas of glass letting in a lot of light, we can install daylight sensors so that as the day gets brighter, less energy is used by the bulbs and panels by dimming them whilst the sunshine provides the majority of the light needed. As the day progresses and natural light diminishes, the bulbs become brighter again and more energy again be used by the bulbs/panels. Simple but very effective in further reducing your energy consumption.
